I just wanted to post a few of my thoughts about the FTC here. I was tempted to write in that "friendly" thread the F3 are arguing in, but I'd rather not start trying to Murphy the jury.
First of all, I like Yul. I also like that Yul thought so highly of my game, apparently. However, purely from a strategic point of view, what he claims as his "big moves" really...aren't. Like, maybe its because I've read Ponderosa, but Yul's best shot in the F3 was one of him, Ed, and myself, because he gets all the people who were cheering for him from old La Barb (Coach, LJ, Dolly, PG) and has the capacity to swoop in on a few others. I could maybe fight him on a few of these, and I like to believed I win, but its absolutely a tight fight. By voting me out at F5, he made sure he was either going to the finale with Dolly or PG, one who has all the ORG friends in the world, and one who played almost the same exact game as him, but had better bonds with the majority of the jury.
And it's not like I was gunning for him at any point. Yes, you can absolutely be targeted without being a threat - if that wasn't true, why did goat extraordinaire Baylor Wilson get so many goddamn votes in SJDS? Because she didn't fit into others plans, which I guess you can say is a threat in of itself, but at that point you may as well be stretching the word to fit your own purposes. PG WAS more of a threat, but she was more trustworthy because most of the people in power when Yul was getting those votes knew where her head was at and she'd be a shield in the future, since surely no one would be dumb enough to take her to the end.
Also, voting for Edgardo at the F4 was suicidal, because maybe he guaranteed himself a vote, but he also risked a massive threat getting into the finale. Trust me, I've been there, done that - it never works as well as you'd think in your head.
Yul played a solid game, but I don't think he played a winners game. So as much as I like the guy, he has an awesome personality, I just don't see either his social or strategic game as being enough.
I'm honestly more torn than I'd thought I'd be. PG absolutely had my vote coming in, but honestly I don't think she's had a stellar FTC. Not like, an actively bad one, but I feel like she's banking on the (admittedly great) game she played to carry the day. Ed, meanwhile, is fighting tooth and nail, making logical points, and doing everything in his power to show that PG/Yul didn't have the control they claim they did. I do believe Ed's strategic game vastly outwigh's PG's - I guess it comes down to who I'd be happier with as a winner.
To be completely honest, I'm still leaning PG - I've always said the social aspect is the most important one, and Ed's waved off that part of the game in several answers, saying he doesn't enjoy talking to us or anything of that sort. Which fine, whatever, don't admit it when your trying to get our votes, haha. Also, I'm not sure how much I wanna vote for a guy who almost assuredly repeatedly slammed me in his confessionals. (Hi Adam! ) But it's tough - I feel like Ed is making logical arguements, and PG/Yul are just being like "lol no your wrong." Granted he isn't doing it in the most tactful manner, but would you expect any different than Ed?
Regardless of how I ultimately vote, and god the Grant from a month ago would be shocked to see me say this, PG or Edgardo would be a deserving winner. I like both of them, and I hope regardless of how I ultimately vote, the other understands that I massively appreciate the person they are and the game they played.
